Luminar Neo: The Complete Course Lesson 2 (2024 update) – Adding Images and First Steps

You’ll learn how to add photos to Luminar Neo as a stand alone editor and how to access the Luminar plugin from both Lightroom and Mac Photos if you use those applications.

You’ll learn about folders and albums, how to create albums and how to use them to organize your photos. Then we’ll move into the editing phase to look at presets and the first two items you need to know about in the edit panel: the histogram and the crop tool

Lesson Updated: 01/2024

In the downloadable file below, I provide practice images with both power lines and dust spots for you to try out these tools and practice.

Topics covered in this lesson

  • Adding and working with images in Luminar Neo

Live photo editing demonstrations

Attend my weekly photo editing Livestream on YouTube and ask your questions there. I’ll answer them and demonstrate the solution in real-time.

I broadcast live for between 60-90 minutes each week on either Saturday afternoon at 3:00 pm EST, or Wednesday nights at 8:00 pm EST depending on the season. Saturdays during the fall/winter and Wednesdays during the late spring and summer months.

After images for reference

Below you’ll find the finished images that I used in the video above. Use them as a reference and try to replicate the results as closely as you can.
