Would you like to learn how to take better pictures but cannot get to a class or workshop? Online photography tutoring may be just what you’re looking for. Regardless of your physical location or time zone, lessons can be scheduled at nearly any time of the day, most days of the week.
Just as we do with face-to-face tutoring, the lesson is tailored to your specific needs. Possible subjects suitable for photography tutoring online include, but are not limited to:
- Camera basics (DSLR, mirrorless or point and shoot)
- HDR Photography
- Understanding available light
- How to use Adobe Lightroom for post-processing your photos
- Using Luminar for editing your photos
- Setting up a good digital workflow
- Image review with constructive tips for how to improve
Online photography tutoring is not meant to replace classes, it’s just another option. Perhaps you’ve done a few classes but have some additional questions, or find that you learn better in a one-on-one lesson rather than a group setting. Others yet have difficult schedules that make attending regular classes difficult if not impossible.
Or in the current world situation, if you’re staying put at home and want to fill your days with something productive!
Thank you Darlene for great tutoring, you have been amazing.
I’m really happy with where I am at and eager for more (private lessons). Thank you Darlene for great tutoring., I am so happy.
Imagine the difference in a few months. You have been amazing. I feel more and more confident happy content with the process.
I was on automatic mode and did not know anything about the menu. Now I know quite a bit more thanks to your tutoring, patience, and guidance. Yippee. I am on aperture mode all the time. I’m learning a little more every day.

Tutoring StudentHow are the classes done?
It doesn’t matter where you live or what sort of knowledge you currently have, online photography tutoring lessons are tailored to your specific needs.
The class is done quite simply using software called Zoom. We set it all up for you and just send you a link to click and voila you’re in the meeting.
We are connected visually and each of us will have the ability to screen share. You can see the examples I’m using first and then I can watch you as you work on your own photos, making use of the lessons you’ve just learned.
Tutoring sessions can be booked on weekdays or weekends. Your lesson must be prepaid before a time slot can be scheduled.
I took a private tutoring lesson with Darlene and it was amazing!
She is an incredible teacher who has great hands-on ways of explaining things. I left the lesson with so much more clarity about things that have confused me for months. She offers practical skills and explanations about why and how.
She also uses technology in such wonderful ways. She sends articles SHE wrote to explain more about the concepts she’s teaching. Amazing!
She examined my photos and gave me constructive criticism and suggestions. And then after she sent me a recording of my lesson!
Best money I’ve ever spent. Darlene is an absolute expert and I feel lucky for the opportunity to learn from her! I can hardly wait for my next lesson!

Private Tutoring Testimonials and Reviews
Most of all, I appreciate the fact that when I work with you, no matter how tired I am or how busy we both are, you take time to try to cover all issues I’ve raised — and I go away from our sessions enthusiastic about photography again. Thank you!
